Drying pork meat! Pork with maggots crawling or boar’s tripe with auroch’s dripping? Straight out of Asterix’s gaulish village?
The villagers either ignore the maggots, savour them or couldn’t care two hoots! The insects are crawling all over this valuable slice of meat which doesn’t seem to have been cured well at all, given the state of its rotting!
But the villagers seem all enthused about cutting the dried pork into neat squares and juliennes!
People in the process of drying pork meat in Ziro Village Arunachal Pradesh. The footage shows them hanging the pork meat/skin by a bamboo stick and putting it to dry in the Sun.
